Habe gefärbt/Dyed

Die letzten beiden Tage wurde auf dem Balkon gefärbt. Ich hatte schon vor einigen Tagen Rotholz und Alkana eingeweicht und Leinen- und Hanfgarn gefärbt. Das Rotholz ist einfach nur cool geworden, selbst auf dem Hanf- und Leinengarn, aber mit dem Alkana hatte ich auf den Pflanzenfasern kein Glück. Nicht auf den Bildern ist meine Alkanafärbung mit einer Wolle-/Seidemischung, die ist etwas besser geworden, aber es scheint, als habe ich meinen Dreh mit Alkana irgendwie verloren. Mal sehen.

In the last days, I dyed on my balcony. Brazilwood and Dyer's Alkanet sloshed already in their bathes and linen and hemp yarn was mordanted some days ago. I am rather pleased with the brazilwood, even on the plant fibres but I'm really disappointed by the Dyer's Alkanet. Not shown on the picture is some wool-silk-mix, I dyed as well which took the Alkanet a bit better but somehow I seem to have lost my knack for this dye. We'll see ...


Die vier Stränge im Vordergrund sind ganz konventionelle Colortexfärbung auf Wolle/Leinen 80/20 Sockenwolle, die ich vor ein paar Tagen bei ebay ersteigert habe. Bislang macht sie einen netten Eindruck und sie ließ sich auch problemlos färben.

The four colourful skeins are dyed convetionally with Colortex on sock yarn auctioned on ebay, wool/linen 80%/20%. I am surprised by the good result, I'd expected the linen part to resist the dye more. It didn't bleed and too on the dye completely, so I expect the dye to be fast enough for wear.



These are the skeins on close-up. I like the colours and am eager to knit with them some fancy socks :)
